Spectrum Solutions Names Rohit K. Gupta as Chief Medical Officer

SALT LAKE CITY– Spectrum Solutions, LLC today announced it has appointed Rohit K. Gupta to the newly established position of Chief Medical Officer. Rohit is a highly respected researcher who brings nearly 20 years of experience advancing new areas of growth in the life sciences with biobanking to improve infrastructure related to clinical biospecimens and biological data.

As Chief Medical Officer at Spectrum Solutions, Rohit will be responsible for the strategy, direction, and execution of Spectrum’s clinical and medical product development plans. Gupta’s leadership will steer Spectrum’s R&D efforts and continue to drive product innovation.

Rohit began his research in 2003 at Stanford University studying Multiple Sclerosis. He became a founding member and Executive Director of the Stanford Biobank, where he established a globally recognized biobank infrastructure. He achieved notoriety as he led the strategy, design, and development of a federation of academic biobanks utilizing novel tools, such as a central data platform for managing both clinical and biological ‘transomics’ information related to the biospecimens. His research expertise in the life sciences has helped fund more than $100M in support across various projects.

Rohit went on to serve as the inaugural Chief Biobank Officer for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he led campus-wide efforts to establish centralized specimen and data management solutions for the next generation of diagnostics and therapeutics.

Concurrent to his position at Spectrum Solutions, Rohit also serves as the Chief Biobank Officer for TMRW Life Sciences, a life sciences technology company which provides the world’s first automated cryo-management solution for IVF.

Ultimately, his vision includes efforts to advance sample quality, foster cutting-edge assays, and drive a patient-centric informatics approach to help unlock the value of precision medicine and scientific discovery.

Rohit is frequently published in numerous peer reviewed medical journals. Some of his recent collaborative efforts include: “Clonal replacement of tumor-specific T cells following PD-1 blockade” in Nature Medicine and “PD-1 expression by tumour-associated macrophages inhibits phagocytosis and tumour immunity” in Nature.
