NEW YORK– Executive compensation consulting firm Pay Governance has hired Olivia Wakefield as a Partner in the firm’s Boston office. With more than 25 years of executive compensation experience in both consulting and corporate roles, she brings significant expertise in the life sciences and pharmacuetical sector.
Wakefield is an experienced strategic advisor and business leader who provides trusted counsel to boards of directors and executive leadership. She has significant expertise developing and implementing executive compensation programs that enable business performance and drive results.
Prior to joining Pay Governance, Wakefield was the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Total Rewards, at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. In this role, she led a number key rewards integration initiatives, including implementing Takeda’s first global equity and ESPP programs. Previously, she was the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Total Rewards, at Shire Pharmaceuticals during Shire’s acquisition of Baxalta. She was appointed as the Shire HR integration lead during the Shire/Takeda acquisition in addition to her Total Rewards role.
Wakefield started her career at Willis Towers Watson as an executive compensation consultant supporting an array of clients across multiple sectors, then proceeded to build a strong client base in life sciences.

She has been a frequent contributor to industry publications and has spoken to governance and industry groups, such as the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals, The Biotechnology Innovation Organization and WorldatWork. Wakefield has been a guest lecturer at Simmons University and the Rady School of Management, University of California San Diego.
