HUNTLEY, Ill.– Life Spine, Inc., a medical device company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets products for the surgical treatment of spinal disorders, announced today that the Company will vigorously fight allegations of patent infringement filed by Globus Medical, Inc.

Life Spine’s ProLift Expandable Spacer System has been helping patients for the past five years and recently reached 20,000 units sold. The flagship ProLift product line continues to grow, with Life Spine having gained U.S. FDA clearance to market three new products, ProLift Lateral HELO Fixated, ProLift Wedge, and ProLift micro, in this year alone.

Faced with the increasing competition from Life Spine’s innovative ProLift products, competitor Globus Medical, Inc. has resorted to filing a meritless patent lawsuit. Globus’s lawsuit is nothing more than an effort to slow Life Spine’s rapid growth. Life Spine looks forward to defending this case on the merits.

Life Spine is one of the market leaders in research, design, and innovation, with one of the highest patent outputs per employee in the industry. Life Spine’s IP portfolio now consists of over 265 patents and applications. With over 14 expandable 510(k) clearances from the U.S. FDA and an additional 10+ in the queue, Life Spine has the most advanced expandable product offering to date.

Life Spine’s CEO Michael Butler said: “We will vigorously defend our company against Globus’s claims.”
