CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– Quantori, LLC, a leading global provider of end-to-end software engineering, scientific informatics, data sciences, and digital transformation services for life sciences and healthcare companies, today announced the appointment of Steve Labkoff, MD, to the position of Global Head of Clinical and Healthcare Informatics to meet the increasing demand from leading biopharma and health systems for actionable insights to inform drug development and critical treatment decisions that improve patient care in addition to reducing costs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Steve to this newly created role at Quantori that is aimed at helping our biopharma customers leverage their data from Discovery through Post-Launch Marketing to create safer, more effective and targeted therapies,” said Richard Golob, Quantori’s CEO. “Steve’s expertise in curating and analyzing data to accelerate drug development, and ultimately improve medical outcomes, will enhance our business capabilities and support Quantori’s overall growth strategy.”

Steve Labkoff is a nationally recognized clinician-informatician who joins Quantori from the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), the largest non-profit organization in the world focused on accelerating a cure for multiple myeloma. As the MMRF’s first-ever Chief Data Officer, he architected, built, and ran the largest multi-data registry in oncology for multiple myeloma, enabling patients, clinicians, and researchers to democratize their data. In addition, by combining multiple types of data, including real-world data and genomic and immunologic data, the registry helped biopharma researchers to better understand myeloma and develop more personalized treatments.

“I am thrilled to join the exemplary management team at Quantori and help Quantori’s clients optimize volumes of complex data sets to drive data to knowledge, knowledge to actionable insights, and insights to value,” said Labkoff. “Quantori’s data scientists and informaticians have deep domain knowledge and understand the nature of data at a granular level, which is required for powering the future of precision medicine.”

At Quantori, Steve will be responsible for assisting life sciences clients in developing and implementing innovative informatics solutions that support the entire drug development lifecycle. In addition, he will lead Quantori’s new Registry Science Initiative to help close the gap between clinical care and clinical research through the construction of patient registries. Steve will also be working with foundations and nonprofit organizations on data acquisition, management, and analytics to help these organizations meet their long-term goals. Previously, he served as Head of Strategic Programs in the Research and Development Information Division at AstraZeneca, and as Director of Healthcare Informatics at Pfizer. His broad life sciences leadership experience also includes management positions at Intelligent Medical Objects and Deloitte Consulting’s Life Sciences Practice.

Steve received his doctorate from the Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiology at Cooper University Medical Center. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in medical informatics at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Steve is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American College of Medical Informatics (FACMI), and the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA).
