MCLEAN, Va.– Verato, the identity experts for healthcare, today announced the appointment of Avi Mukherjee to the role of Chief Product Officer (CPO). Mukherjee will lead the company’s product and go-to-market strategy and engineering teams to continue to accelerate the innovation of the industry’s only purpose-built for healthcare master data management (hMDM) identity platform. Mukherjee has spent his career driving digital transformation in healthcare and is committed to solving the problem that drives everything else – knowing who is who™.

In a recent survey, 72% of healthcare executives noted that they were concerned about siloed, inaccurate personal data. Further, only 14% are very satisfied with their current patient identity solutions, which are oftentimes “homegrown” or comprised of legacy systems. 60% of executives also revealed that patient identity is valuable to every strategic initiative within their organization, including care quality and the patient experience. Over 80 organizations, serving approximately 75% of the US population, turn to the Verato Universal Identity Platform to solve these pressing concerns. As CPO, Mukherjee will build upon this success to continue to innovate and solve critical identity challenges for consumers, patients and providers across the healthcare continuum.

“After introducing healthcare’s first hMDM solution, Verato allowed organizations to approach identity as a foundational element in the healthcare enterprise, supporting critical IT initiatives around identity – whether patient, consumer, member, provider or employee,” said Mukherjee. “I look forward to continuing in that direction and expanding our technology to support the needs of our customers.”

Mukherjee has a wealth of experience building and scaling cloud companies for healthcare. He joins Verato from Verily, a Google Life Sciences technology company, where he led healthcare customer solutions across health systems and payer customers. Prior to his work with Verily, Mukherjee held executive roles at organizations such as Evariant, Capital BlueCross and Optum. His deep knowledge of the healthcare industry is further bolstered by his personal experience as a Verato customer at multiple previous organizations.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Avi to the Verato team,” said Clay Ritchey, CEO of Verato. “Avi is an outstanding leader with a proven ability to build and lead high performing teams that drive new and innovative product development. He comes with a wealth of experience building and scaling cloud SaaS companies for healthcare. And with his first-hand client experience of Verato, I look forward to his fresh take on how to further enhance, expand and grow our platform to help reduce the complexity and friction in our Industry.”
