NEW ORLEANS– The Fertility Institute of New Orleans is pleased to welcome Dr. Stacey A. Scheib as a Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgeon. Dr. Scheib specializes in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery (MIGS), including fertility surgeries and complex gynecological surgical needs, in addition to complex cases of endometriosis and pelvic pain. She is now scheduling new patient appointments at the New Orleans (Metairie) and Mandeville locations of The Fertility Institute.
The addition of Dr. Scheib to the Fertility Institute expands the service offerings we provide for complex cases. In addition to fertility surgeries like single-incision laparoscopy, Dr. Scheib is the only certified MIGS surgeon on the Gulf Coast, providing treatment for complex endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian masses and cysts, teratomas, robotic assisted laparoscopic abdominal cerclage and more.
The Fertility Institute Medical Director, Dr. Warren Jay Huber, expressed the impact of having a skilled surgeon such as Dr. Scheib, stating, “Dr. Scheib is a talented and gifted minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon and pelvic pain specialist whose skill set will complement our approach to treatment. We are thrilled to welcome her to our clinic and are excited to see the positive impact she will have in our patients’ fertility treatment plans.” Dr. Huber added that The Fertility Institute looks forward to this partnership and the resulting broad scope of treatment options for patients.
Dr. Scheib earned her board certification with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009. Prior to joining The Fertility Institute, she served as Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecology in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, as well as the Director of the Multidisciplinary Fibroid Center, the Director of the Chronic Pelvic Pain Center, and the Director of Ob/Gyn Simulation at Johns Hopkins.
“I couldn’t be happier to join the Fertility Institute,” said Dr. Scheib. “Everyone is willing to help and chip in. There is such a positive energy here, and I can’t help but be excited about a new beginning.”
Dr. Scheib’s work in minimally invasive gynecological surgery and specifically, single-incision laparoscopy, has garnered national attention, being awarded several honors, such as being named a National APGO Electrosurgical Scholar and a recipient of Alumni Trustee Endorsement Grant and Women’s Health Education Award from Drexel University.
