As the co-founder and COO of ABI-LAB, Kaufman has been instrumental in fostering biotech innovation. His extensive background includes over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience in consumer-focused businesses, real estate development, and the startup ecosystem. Kaufman is also an active angel investor and is currently developing an investment vehicle aimed at supporting two to four new biotech companies annually.

In addition to his work at ABI-LAB, Kaufman serves as the president of Shelby Enterprises Inc., a commercial and residential real estate firm. He is also the co-founder and vice chairman of the Metrowest Life Sciences Network, an organization dedicated to promoting professional networking and the growth of the life sciences industry in the Metrowest region of Massachusetts.

Kaufman holds a BS in Management Science from Bridgewater State College and has pursued advanced studies at Tel Aviv University and Harvard University. His diverse expertise has been pivotal in ABI-LAB’s success, particularly in providing scalable, flexible lab spaces for companies navigating the challenges of early-stage development.
