PALO ALTO, Calif.Science Exchange, a leader in life sciences procurement and supplier management software, has announced the acquisition of HappiLabs, a Chicago-based company specializing in scientific procurement support. The acquisition strengthens Science Exchange’s procurement expertise and expands access to high-quality purchasing insights for biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

HappiLabs, known for its Virtual Lab Manager (VLM) service, has been helping life sciences organizations optimize lab purchasing, vendor management, and scientific supply chains for over a decade. By joining Science Exchange, HappiLabs’ PhD-trained procurement experts will leverage expanded resources, technology, and supplier relationships to enhance procurement support for the scientific community.

Founder and CEO of HappiLabs, Tom Ruginis, will take on a senior leadership role at Science Exchange, focusing on expanding procurement solutions for biotech companies. “By combining our expertise with Science Exchange’s technology and scale, we can deliver even greater value to biotech and pharma companies—helping them operate more efficiently and freeing their scientists to focus on what matters most: the science,” Ruginis said.
