WESTFORD, Mass.– Cynosure Lutronic, a global leader in energy-based aesthetic technology, has received Health Canada clearance for its latest innovation, the XERF device, paving the way for a new era in non-invasive skin tightening treatments across the country.

XERF, which launched in 2024 and is already available in Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong, is now set to make its North American debut in Canada. The device offers a needle-free, non-invasive alternative for skin rejuvenation, promising effective tightening without the need for numbing or recovery time.

At the core of XERF’s design is a first-of-its-kind single shot, multi-frequency monopolar radio frequency (RF) technology. By combining 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies, the device can target multiple tissue depths in a single session, heating the skin’s fibrous layers to stimulate both immediate and long-term tightening effects.

The technology is bolstered by two key innovations: Wave Fit pulse and Integrated Cryogen Delivery (ICD) Cooling. These features work together to deliver controlled energy while maintaining a comfortable skin surface temperature, removing the need for numbing agents. Additionally, the device’s patented Spider Pattern Tip helps reduce edge effects on the skin, enhancing both safety and efficacy.

“The clearance of XERF in Canada marks an exciting milestone for Cynosure Lutronic as we expand our presence in North America,” said Lowinn Kibbey, President of Cynosure Lutronic North America. “We’re thrilled to offer a solution that delivers exceptional results while providing a more comfortable experience for patients.”

Medical experts have also endorsed the device’s clinical promise. “XERF incorporates the newest technology to safely deliver energy deep into the skin, while offering intelligent cooling for superior protection and patient comfort,” said Dr. Jordan V. Wang, Medical Director of the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania.

With the Canadian clearance secured, Cynosure Lutronic is prioritizing Canada as the launchpad for XERF’s entry into the North American market. The company anticipates strong demand from both aesthetic professionals and patients seeking cutting-edge skin treatments with minimal downtime.
