San Diego– DexCom, Inc. announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared the Dexcom G7 15 Day Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System for use in adults aged 18 and older. The new version extends sensor wear to 15.5 days, making it the longest-lasting CGM system currently available in the U.S., and boasts an industry-leading accuracy with a Mean Absolute Relative Difference (MARD) of 8.0%.

The Dexcom G7 15 Day builds on the legacy of the company’s CGM technology, which is clinically proven to help lower A1C levels, reduce both high and low blood sugar events, and increase the time users spend in their optimal glucose range. This latest innovation maintains all the key features of the Dexcom G7 platform, including direct Apple Watch connectivity, waterproof design, automated activity and medication logging, and remote glucose sharing with caregivers.

“This approval marks another major innovation for Dexcom,” said Jake Leach, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We’re proud to offer the longest-lasting and most accurate CGM, giving people the knowledge to better manage their diabetes. It’s a new standard in glucose monitoring and reflects our continued leadership in biosensing.”

Clinical data presented at the 18th Advanced Technologies and Treatments for Diabetes conference in Amsterdam supports Dexcom’s claim that G7 15 Day is currently the most accurate CGM system for adults. For children and teens aged 2 to 18, the original Dexcom G7 continues to hold the top spot for accuracy in that age group.

In addition to its improved accuracy and longer wear time, the new device reduces the number of sensors required each month and decreases medical waste. It also features a 12-hour grace period for replacing sensors, helping users transition more smoothly between sessions.

Dexcom is working with insulin pump partners to ensure compatibility with automated insulin delivery systems. The Dexcom G7 15 Day system is expected to launch in the United States during the second half of 2025.
