WESTBOROUGH, Mass.– Oak Orchard Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving more than 30,000 patients across 11 locations in western New York, is reporting major improvements in clinical efficiency and patient care after implementing AI-driven and patient engagement tools from eClinicalWorks and Sunoh.ai.
The 83-provider practice has integrated the Sunoh.ai AI medical scribe into its daily workflow, resulting in significant time savings and reduced provider burnout. According to Jason Kuder, Chief Information Officer at Oak Orchard Health, the technology has allowed clinicians to save between one to five minutes per patient encounter, often enabling them to complete documentation before the end of the day.
“Sunoh.ai’s ability to automatically draft the History of Present Illness has significantly reduced the mental burden on our providers,” said Kuder. “It’s helping us deliver better care by letting our clinicians focus more on patients and less on paperwork.”
The practice has also adopted several features of the healow suite, including CHECK-IN, Pay, and Kiosk, which have enhanced front-desk operations. These tools allow patients to check in digitally and make payments via kiosks or online platforms, reducing wait times and easing the administrative workload on staff.
“The adoption of these tools has not only enabled our staff to handle more calls and improve patient flow, but it’s also resulted in substantial cost savings previously spent on paper-based processes,” Kuder added.
