Cleveland & Dallas– Premier Biotech, a provider of toxicology testing solutions backed by Align Capital Partners (ACP), has significantly expanded its product offerings and international reach through two recent acquisitions. The company acquired the substance abuse testing division of OraSure Technologies, Inc. (OTI), along with the Mexican subsidiary of Green Earth Biomedical LLC (GEM).

The acquisition of OTI’s OraSure Toxicology Line, finalized on March 27, 2025, marks a major move for Premier as it strengthens its position in the oral fluid testing market. OTI, once a global leader in oral fluid drug testing products, exited the substance abuse testing space in late 2024. The acquired assets include proprietary testing assays used across employment, forensic, and treatment markets—excluding the OraSure name and trademark.

“OTI’s products are known for their quality and ease of use,” said Premier CEO Matt Michalik. “This acquisition enhances our leadership in oral fluid testing and allows us to offer more lab-based solutions as the market continues its shift toward oral fluid diagnostics.”

Oral fluid testing offers several advantages over traditional methods, including faster results, reduced costs, and a lower risk of sample tampering or adulteration. Premier’s integration of OTI’s technology is expected to further boost its capabilities and customer base in the toxicology sector.

In a separate move, Premier also acquired GEM’s Mexican subsidiary, solidifying its presence in Latin America. GEM, a key distributor of Premier’s products in Mexico and other parts of Latin America, will now operate under the Premier brand. This acquisition is seen as a strategic step in accelerating Premier’s international growth.

The latest deals mark the third and fourth acquisitions Premier has completed since ACP partnered with the company in November 2022. According to ACP, the firm remains committed to supporting Premier’s continued growth through further acquisitions and partnerships.

ACP Managing Partner Rob Langley, along with Operating Partner Ervin Cash, Principal Matt Bowen, and Associate Sarah Mahosky, collaborated with Premier’s management team on the transactions.
