Marlborough, Mass.– Residents of MetroWest Boston now have access to a more personalized approach to primary care with the opening of a new MDVIP-affiliated practice led by board-certified family physician Dr. Gilberto Sustache, Jr. The practice is located at 65 Boston Post Road West, Suite 100, in Marlborough.

Dr. Sustache, who brings more than two decades of experience in primary care, has joined forces with MDVIP—a national leader in membership-based healthcare with a network of over 1,300 primary care physicians. His new practice emphasizes preventive care, same-day or next-day appointments, and a stronger doctor-patient relationship.

“With over 20 years in primary care, I have always sought to build a partnership with patients focused on improving health, preventing disease, and addressing acute and chronic illnesses they may face at any age,” said Dr. Sustache. “Opening an MDVIP practice allows me to deliver the kind of personalized, preventive care that helps patients stay healthier while also providing them peace of mind knowing that I’m readily available when they need me.”

Unlike traditional primary care offices, MDVIP-affiliated practices limit patient enrollment, allowing physicians to spend more time with each individual. Patients in Dr. Sustache’s practice will benefit from longer appointments—typically averaging 30 minutes—along with 24/7 phone access to the doctor, same- or next-day visits, and a comprehensive annual wellness program that includes advanced diagnostic testing.

Dr. Sustache is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester (now UChan Mass Medical School) and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and fluent in both English and Spanish.

The MDVIP model has been shown to improve health outcomes significantly, with peer-reviewed studies reporting reductions in hospitalizations—79% fewer among Medicare patients and 72% fewer among commercially insured patients—compared to traditional primary care.

Dr. Sustache’s new practice brings the MDVIP promise of more personalized, accessible healthcare to Marlborough and the broader MetroWest community.
