KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. — Ecolab Life Sciences has announced the official opening of its new Bioprocessing Applications Laboratory in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to support the growing needs of biopharmaceutical companies with advanced applications and process development services for the purification of biotherapeutic molecules.

Strategically located near a concentration of major pharmaceutical operations in the Eastern United States, the lab will serve both biopharma firms and contract manufacturing organizations with technical support across all stages of the drug development lifecycle—from small-scale research to full commercial production.

Equipped with high-throughput process development tools and manufacturing-scale chromatography columns, the facility offers turnkey solutions to accelerate process optimization. Biotech companies can use the lab for resin selection, cost-reduction strategies, and regulatory submission support. The lab is already in use by several organizations to improve efficiency and shorten development timelines.

“Our new Bioprocessing Applications Lab marks a significant milestone in our ability to be a global technical partner to our customers,” said Dr. Jennifer Sorrells, vice president of research and development at Ecolab Life Sciences. “This facility demonstrates our commitment to delivering best-in-class bioprocessing solutions by pairing Ecolab’s innovative resin toolbox with deep domain expertise to optimize the purification process. We are dedicated to empowering our customers to accelerate the delivery of life-saving therapies to market.”

The Pennsylvania lab complements Ecolab’s existing facility in Wales, U.K., and is a key part of the company’s Pharma Center of Excellence, a multi-million-dollar investment that also includes an API and excipient manufacturing site and The Xchange, an interactive customer experience center.

With the ability to initiate and complete lifecycle studies in a matter of weeks, the new lab is expected to play a central role in helping customers bring therapies to market faster, with full access to raw data and operational transparency throughout the process.
