San Francisco, Calif.– Hims & Hers Health, Inc., the direct-to-consumer health and wellness company, has appointed Mo Elshenawy as its new Chief Technology Officer, signaling a major step forward in the company’s mission to integrate artificial intelligence into the core of modern healthcare delivery.
Elshenawy, a veteran technology executive with more than 20 years of experience, joins Hims & Hers after serving as President and CTO at Cruise, the autonomous vehicle subsidiary of General Motors. At Cruise, he played a pivotal role in launching and scaling the first commercial driverless rideshare service in San Francisco, overseeing technical development, regulatory compliance, and operations. He previously held senior leadership roles at Amazon, where he led global engineering for the ReCommerce business and developed high-impact retail data analytics systems. Elshenawy holds over 10 patents in AI, robotics, and autonomous technologies.
His appointment reflects Hims & Hers’ strategic push to build an AI-powered platform capable of delivering personalized, accessible, and scalable healthcare. CEO and co-founder Andrew Dudum said the company’s long-term vision hinges on technology that can transform the care experience from diagnosis to treatment.
“The future of care connects diagnosis, treatment, and delivery seamlessly in a way that feels personalized to every individual,” Dudum said. “AI will be critical in enabling this future, and Mo brings the experience and vision to lead our platform into its next era of innovation.”
Elshenawy echoed that vision, emphasizing the opportunity to reshape how care is delivered. “We are standing at the edge of a healthcare revolution, and Hims & Hers is uniquely positioned to lead it,” he said. “By leveraging AI and data, we can make care more intelligent, personal, and radically more accessible to people everywhere.”
Hims & Hers is currently expanding its AI capabilities across its MedMatch intelligent routing system, diagnostic tools, and treatment personalization. The company believes that deeper investments in AI will enhance its ability to deliver safe, high-quality care at scale, helping to close gaps in access and affordability that have long challenged the traditional healthcare system.
Elshenawy’s arrival comes at a time of accelerated growth and innovation for Hims & Hers, as it looks to modernize healthcare through smart infrastructure, end-to-end digital experiences, and a strong emphasis on user-centered design.
