Westborough, Mass.– The Neurology Center of New England, the largest neurological care provider in Massachusetts, has reported a 156% increase in patient payments in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, following the implementation of eClinicalWorks’ healow® Payment Services and Image AI Assistant.

The dramatic growth in revenue comes after the center integrated healow Pay™ and healow Statements to simplify the billing experience for patients. According to Kate Sciore, Vice President of Operations at the Neurology Center, the new system allows patients to pay more quickly and conveniently, often submitting payments before formal statements are received. “healow Statements bring transparency—patients know exactly what they’re paying for,” she said.

In addition to payment improvements, the center has also streamlined its administrative workflows using eClinicalWorks’ Image AI Assistant. The AI-powered tool matches incoming faxed documents—such as MRI scans and test results—to patient records with over 95% accuracy. The Neurology Center processes more than 160 faxes daily, a task that previously consumed up to five hours per day. With the AI solution, the same workload is now completed in under an hour, allowing staff to shift their focus to more immediate tasks like answering phone calls and checking in patients.

“With Image AI, all faxes are analyzed and processed by the end of the day, ensuring that key documents are available for review before patient visits,” Sciore explained. “This has not only improved our internal efficiency but also elevated the patient experience.”

Serving over 2,700 patients each month, the Neurology Center of New England offers a comprehensive range of neurological services, including physical and speech therapy. The integration of AI and digital payment solutions has proven instrumental in reducing administrative burdens while improving care delivery and patient satisfaction.

Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks, emphasized the broader impact of AI in healthcare. “Our goal is to automate routine tasks and enhance clinical efficiency,” he said. “With tools like the Image AI Assistant, we’re helping practices across the country save time, reduce costs, and ultimately deliver better care.”
