SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Advanced nuclear technology company Oklo Inc. (NYSE: OKLO) has appointed energy sector veteran Pat Schweiger as its new Chief Technology Officer, bringing decades of expertise in nuclear reactor development to the firm as it moves toward commercializing its next-generation systems.

Schweiger, who has more than 40 years of experience across engineering, construction, operations, and business development, is known for his leadership in advanced fission and fusion projects. He previously held senior roles at Commonwealth Fusion Systems and TerraPower, where he helped scale engineering teams and oversaw major reactor design initiatives.

“Pat’s decades of experience and expertise in power engineering will be a tremendous asset to Oklo,” said Jacob DeWitte, co-founder and CEO of Oklo. “His experience at the Fast Flux Test Facility provides a direct link to the technology legacy that our reactor design builds on.”

Before joining Oklo, Schweiger led teams at Hedron Engineering and Consulting, where he contributed to thermal energy storage projects at MIT and supported development efforts in the small modular reactor space. At Commonwealth Fusion Systems, he served as Chief Engineer, building a 400-person engineering organization and helping the company raise more than $2 billion in private funding. Earlier, at TerraPower, he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Design Authority, guiding international collaborations and technical integration.

Schweiger is a licensed Professional Engineer with multiple patents in nuclear technology and a published author on reactor systems. His technical foundation includes work on sodium-cooled fast reactors, which he considers both inherently safe and efficient.

“Working on a reactor that was designed and operated with that level of excellence remains a highlight of my career,” Schweiger said. “I’m excited to help bring that success forward again at Oklo.”

Oklo is developing compact fast reactors aimed at providing clean, reliable energy for a variety of applications, including industrial and remote power needs.
