CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– Philips and March of Dimes have announced a new collaboration aimed at improving maternal health awareness and outcomes through the integration of expert content into the Philips Avent Pregnancy+ app, one of the world’s most widely used pregnancy apps.
The partnership will bring trusted, evidence-based educational resources from March of Dimes into the Pregnancy+ app, helping expectant mothers better understand critical topics such as preterm birth, NICU preparation, vaccinations, and the benefits of low-dose aspirin in preventing pregnancy-related hypertensive disorders like preeclampsia.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to supporting families with accurate, accessible health information during pregnancy,” said Kelly Ernst, Chief Impact Officer at March of Dimes. “Expanding digital health literacy through platforms like Pregnancy+ helps us meet families where they are and work toward healthier outcomes for moms and babies.”
With over 80 million lifetime downloads, the Pregnancy+ app offers a comprehensive suite of tools for expectant parents, including weekly pregnancy tracking, 3D baby development models, and expert-led health courses. The new content from March of Dimes will be featured prominently in upcoming awareness campaigns and accessible throughout the U.S. via the app.
Beyond educational outreach, Philips and March of Dimes will collaborate on maternal health research by analyzing aggregated user data and survey responses from the app. These insights aim to improve understanding of maternal health challenges and inform future support strategies.
“Addressing maternal health disparities requires partnerships that merge expertise, innovation, and real-world insights,” said Brenda Kapner, Regional Business Unit Leader for Mother & Childcare at Philips North America. “Through this collaboration, we hope to provide families with the tools and knowledge they need while using data to drive meaningful improvements in maternal and infant health.”
The initiative is part of March of Dimes’ broader “Low Dose, Big Benefits” campaign, which raises awareness about the clinical use of low-dose aspirin to reduce the risk of serious pregnancy complications when prescribed by a healthcare provider.
Together, Philips and March of Dimes aim to deliver more equitable access to maternal health resources while advancing research that can lead to better outcomes for families nationwide.
