San Diego– Virgo Surgical Video Solutions has officially launched EndoML, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence development platform designed to accelerate innovation in gastroenterology and pharmaceutical research. The debut took place at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2025, one of the world’s largest gatherings for GI professionals.

EndoML enables clinicians, hospital researchers, and pharmaceutical data teams to build and deploy custom AI models from endoscopy data — without requiring coding or machine learning expertise. By leveraging Virgo’s proprietary foundation model, EndoDINO, which was trained on more than 130,000 full-length GI endoscopy videos, the platform offers high performance in tasks such as polyp segmentation, anatomical landmark recognition, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) scoring.

“The EndoML platform puts the power of artificial intelligence directly into the hands of clinicians and researchers,” said Matt Schwartz, CEO of Virgo. “Our goal is to streamline and democratize AI development in gastroenterology, turning research insights into real-world patient benefits more quickly.”

EndoML supports users in training AI models with their own datasets, while benefiting from the backbone strength of the EndoDINO model. This setup allows for robust performance even with limited labeled data and facilitates collaborative research within the broader scientific community. Early testing of the platform has shown strong results in advanced scoring metrics, such as Mayo Endoscopic Scoring at both frame and video levels.

Virgo’s VP of Engineering, Chris Lawcock, highlighted the flexibility of the platform: “EndoML gives pharmaceutical sponsors and research teams the ability to develop AI models on their own terms — whether integrated within VirgoTrials, our clinical trial data solution, or deployed in their existing environments. It’s designed to fit the evolving needs of both clinical researchers and pharma partners.”

Live demonstrations of EndoML will be ongoing throughout DDW 2025, as Virgo looks to position its new platform as a vital tool for modern GI research and clinical innovation.
