Overland Park, Kan.– WellSky has been recognized as the winner of the “Best Home Health Care Solution” in the ninth annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program for its Enterprise Referral Manager platform, a digital solution designed to streamline and optimize the referral and intake process for home-based care providers. This marks the sixth consecutive year that WellSky has earned honors from MedTech Breakthrough, a prominent independent organization that recognizes innovation across the global health technology sector.
The WellSky Enterprise Referral Manager consolidates referral data from nearly 2,000 hospitals using WellSky CarePort solutions, along with e-faxes and secure messaging, into a centralized dashboard. The platform enables intake coordinators at home health and hospice agencies to review, evaluate, and respond to referrals more efficiently—using information such as insurance, discharge dates, and service needs—all within a unified workflow. This helps reduce administrative burden and accelerates the intake process.
“Home health and hospice agencies depend on referrals for growth, but managing those referrals can be complicated and fragmented,” said Steve Johansson, managing director at MedTech Breakthrough. “WellSky’s solution simplifies the process, empowering agencies to grow efficiently and deliver care more effectively.”
In addition to streamlining data consolidation, the platform enables referral task tracking across sales, intake, and marketing teams, and integrates patient data directly into WellSky’s electronic health record (EHR) system. This integration helps avoid duplicated records and improves coordination across teams, ensuring faster care delivery.
Bill Miller, CEO of WellSky, emphasized the platform’s operational impact. “An agency’s ability to quickly respond to referrals affects everything from staffing to patient outcomes. Our solution creates a seamless and intelligent referral process that enhances care coordination and supports sustainable growth,” Miller said. “We’re honored by this recognition and remain committed to delivering technologies that improve outcomes through greater efficiency and connection.”
The MedTech Breakthrough Awards received over 4,500 nominations this year from companies in more than 18 countries. The program highlights standout achievements across areas such as telehealth, EHR, patient engagement, virtual care, and clinical administration—celebrating those driving progress in healthcare through innovation.
