MINNEAPOLIS — Agiliti has announced the launch of its NP Line™ of stretcher support surfaces, introducing a new generation of clinically engineered, non-powered stretcher pads designed to enhance patient comfort, reduce contamination risks, and withstand the rigors of high-use clinical environments.

The NP Line marks the latest addition to Agiliti’s portfolio of patient support surface technologies and is specifically targeted at emergency and perioperative departments, where stretcher pads experience heavy wear and exposure. The new line features breathable, four-way stretch top cover fabric and RF-welded seams to promote durability and limit microbial infiltration.

“Stretcher pads are among the most used pieces of equipment in high-acuity departments and are subject to rapid wear and tear,” said Tim McCarty, General Manager of Beds and Therapeutic Support Surfaces at Agiliti. “We designed the NP Line with features to improve patient comfort, reduce contamination risk, and offer hospitals a long-lasting solution for their busiest settings.”

Agiliti’s new stretcher surfaces are compatible with most acute care stretcher models and come in three distinct configurations. The NP Adjust ST™ uses foam-filled air cells that automatically respond to patient weight and movement, promoting pressure redistribution. The NP Trio ST™ incorporates three foam layers and a sloped heel zone for enhanced pressure relief, while the NP Duo ST™ features a dual-foam design that combines a soft top layer with a firmer base to ensure consistent support and prevent bottoming out.

The NP Adjust ST and NP Trio ST also include Agiliti’s proprietary CoreShield™ barrier to protect internal components from fluid exposure and CuPro™ copper- and gel-infused foam, which helps manage heat and moisture buildup—factors that contribute to skin breakdown and infection risk.

Agiliti research underscores the urgency of improved surface integrity, revealing that compromised stretcher pads can increase the risk of patient cross-contamination by nearly sixfold. In addition to product innovation, the company offers mattress inspection and audit services to help healthcare providers maintain the integrity and readiness of their existing equipment.

With the launch of the NP Line, Agiliti continues to expand its solutions aimed at elevating patient safety and operational efficiency in high-demand care environments.
