BETHESDA, Md. – BrainScope, a leader in AI-powered EEG technology, has launched a new deep learning platform designed to revolutionize brain health diagnostics. The platform, based on advanced neural modeling, brings the power of large language model (LLM) breakthroughs to EEG data, eliminating the need for specialized quantitative EEG (qEEG) interpretation and enabling faster, more objective assessments across a range of neurological conditions.

The company’s next-generation Large Neural Model platform builds on BrainScope’s position as the developer of the first FDA-cleared AI/machine learning medical device in neurology. With its latest innovations, BrainScope aims to support clinical care and research in conditions such as concussion, stroke, and early-stage Alzheimer’s. The new technology enhances biomarker development for early diagnosis, personalized treatment, and precision-driven clinical trial recruitment, expanding the company’s value to healthcare providers, researchers, and biopharma partners.

“This new platform represents a major leap in EEG analysis, combining deep learning with decades of neuroscience expertise to improve how we diagnose and manage brain health,” said Laurie Silver, CEO of BrainScope.

Alongside the platform launch, BrainScope also announced key updates to its Board of Directors to support the company’s growing commercial and clinical strategy. Ralph Terkowitz, who joined the board in 2023, has been appointed Chairman. A former General Partner at ABS Capital Partners, Terkowitz brings extensive experience scaling tech and health ventures. He also serves on the board of The 10,000 Brains Project and co-chairs The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins.

Two new members are also joining the board: Mike Genau, former President of Medtronic’s Americas Region, and Brian Shea, Head of Origination at Aon Advantage Funds, where he leads healthcare investment strategy. Genau, who previously led a $7 billion business unit at Medtronic, adds significant expertise in commercial scaling and MedTech leadership. Shea brings insight at the intersection of finance, healthcare, and innovation.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mike and Brian at this exciting inflection point,” Silver said. “Their combined experience will strengthen our strategic direction as we expand our platform, enter new markets, and engage new investment partners.”

BrainScope has also launched a newly redesigned website to reflect its broadened mission and showcase the capabilities of its deep learning platform.

Newly appointed Chairman Ralph Terkowitz sees this as a transformative moment. “BrainScope is translating groundbreaking science into real-world clinical impact,” he said. “Its technology is changing how we approach brain health diagnostics, from concussions to Alzheimer’s. I’m excited to support this team as they scale innovation in neuroscience.”
