PHOENIX — Digital health startup Drive Health has appointed James Stringham as Chief Strategy Officer, bringing decades of public sector healthcare leadership to the company as it looks to expand its reach across Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Stringham joins Drive Health with more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, most recently serving in executive roles at Banner Government Health Plans and Magellan Healthcare. His expertise includes managing large-scale contracts with public health programs, including Arizona’s Medicaid system (AHCCCS Complete Care) and other nationwide initiatives.

In his new role, Stringham will lead strategic initiatives aimed at growing Drive Health’s footprint in government-funded healthcare, develop key partnerships, and work closely with company leadership to identify opportunities for innovation and expansion. His appointment is seen as a major step in advancing the company’s mission to provide equitable access to care through its “One Nurse for All” model.

“Having worked closely with Jim over the past year, we’ve seen his deep understanding of public health and his genuine excitement for our mission,” said Drive Health CEO Kevin Longoria. “We’re thrilled to welcome him formally as we strengthen our partnerships and drive meaningful improvements across the healthcare system.”

While leading Banner Government Health Plans, Stringham oversaw services for more than 300,000 members across programs such as the Arizona Long Term Care System, Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans, and Medicare Advantage. He previously held a national leadership role at Magellan Healthcare and served on the board of the Association for Community Affiliated Plans, which advocates for healthcare equity for underserved populations.

Reflecting on his new role, Stringham said, “I’ve had the privilege of supporting patients living with chronic conditions and navigating the barriers of care and health literacy. These challenges shouldn’t keep people from receiving the care they need. Drive Health is committed to eliminating these gaps, and I’m honored to be part of that mission.”

The appointment underscores Drive Health’s commitment to scaling its nurse-driven care model and delivering accessible, patient-centered solutions within complex public health systems.
