NEW YORK — Wisp, the country’s largest dedicated women’s telehealth provider, has appointed Dr. Jennifer Peña as its new Chief Medical Officer as it expands its offerings in reproductive health, diagnostics, fertility, weight care, and more.
A board-certified internal medicine physician and former White House and U.S. Army doctor, Peña brings two decades of experience across clinical care and digital health leadership. She previously held senior roles at Oscar Health, Nurx, K Health, and Vault Health, where she helped design and oversee virtual care platforms for broad, diverse populations.
In her new role, Peña will lead Wisp’s clinical strategy, with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. She will oversee care delivery, grow a multidisciplinary clinical team, and help integrate medical insight into Wisp’s evolving product lines. The appointment comes as Wisp aims to solidify its position as a one-stop shop for women’s health, currently serving more than 1.5 million users across the U.S.
“Wisp is committed to delivering clinical excellence and expanding access to high-quality care for women nationwide,” said Monica Cepak, CEO of Wisp. “Dr. Peña’s experience across both traditional clinics and telehealth will be instrumental as we enter the next phase of growth and innovation in women’s virtual care.”
Peña emphasized the company’s mission to increase access and reduce stigma around women’s health. “Wisp is redefining access to sexual and reproductive health with clinical excellence and unmatched convenience,” she said. “We’re not just offering telehealth; we’re building a movement to destigmatize women’s health and set a new, human-centered standard for virtual care.”
Peña earned her MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University.
