ACTON, Mass. — Insulet Corporation has announced the nationwide availability of its Omnipod® 5 App for iPhone with integrated support for the Dexcom G7 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system, offering enhanced convenience for people managing diabetes.

The update allows users of the Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) System to control their tubeless insulin pump directly from an iPhone while utilizing Dexcom’s latest CGM technology. With this integration, Insulet aims to streamline diabetes management by reducing the number of devices needed for glucose monitoring and insulin delivery.

“This integration represents a major milestone in our commitment to providing innovative solutions for diabetes management,” said Eric Benjamin, Insulet’s Executive Vice President and Chief Product and Customer Experience Officer. “Our U.S. customers now have more choice with fewer devices to keep track of, making it easier than ever to manage their diabetes.”

The Omnipod 5 system automatically adjusts insulin delivery every five minutes and includes autocorrection for high blood sugar levels while helping to prevent hypoglycemia. The new app gives users full control of their insulin management directly from an iPhone, including features like bolus delivery, Pod replacement, settings customization, and access to data insights.

Longtime type 1 diabetes patient and syndicated radio personality Garrett Vogel praised the iPhone app, calling it a game-changer. “I thought bolusing with the Controller was easy, but the Omnipod 5 App on my iPhone makes it even easier. I love it,” said Vogel, who previously used the Dexcom G7 with the Omnipod 5 Controller.

The Omnipod 5 App, now compatible with both Dexcom G7 and G6 sensors, is available for download on the Apple App Store for users in the United States.
