CANTON, Mass. — Point32Health, the parent company of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, has named Patrick Gilligan as its new chief executive officer, effective June 16, 2025.
Gilligan brings decades of experience in the health insurance and healthcare sectors, most recently serving as a partner at CWH Advisors, a consulting firm focused on healthcare organizations. His prior roles include chief commercial officer and executive vice president at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, as well as leadership positions at Indigo Insurance Services and Zaffre Investments. He also previously held a senior executive role at CVS Health.
Eileen Auen, executive chair of Point32Health’s board, will work closely with Gilligan to ensure a seamless leadership transition. “Pat is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape in New England and beyond,” said Auen. “We’re confident in his ability to guide Point32Health through the complex challenges facing the industry and to lead the organization into its next phase of growth.”
In a statement, Gilligan expressed enthusiasm about his new role. “I’m excited to join Point32Health at such a pivotal moment,” he said. “Together with the leadership team and our dedicated employees, I look forward to advancing our mission and strengthening our impact on the health of our members and communities.”
Gilligan’s appointment follows a national search led by a board-appointed selection committee and supported by an executive search firm. He succeeds a leadership team that has guided Point32Health through recent transformations in the healthcare landscape.
