Cambridge, Mass.– QurAlis Corporation, a clinical-stage biotech company focused on developing precision medicines for neurodegenerative and neurological diseases, has officially opened its new global headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The newly constructed facility doubles the company’s previous footprint and is located at 35 Cambridgepark Drive in the heart of the Alewife Biotech Park.
Spanning 30,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility includes expanded research labs, office space, and a 5,000-square-foot conferencing center. More than a third of the new headquarters is dedicated to lab space, featuring an 11,000-square-foot advanced laboratory that includes a tissue culture suite and a new on-site antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) chemistry lab. The lab is designed to support QurAlis’ proprietary FlexASO® platform, which aims to improve the effectiveness of splice-switching ASOs for treating a wide range of neurological conditions.
“Maintaining our corporate headquarters in Cambridge positions us in a world-renowned biotechnology hub and supports our continued growth,” said Jason Brown, CFO of QurAlis. “The expanded facility enhances our R&D capabilities and creates a collaborative, innovation-focused environment for our team, while reinforcing our commitment to transforming the treatment landscape for neurodegenerative disease.”
The new headquarters was developed in partnership with landlord Healthpeak, with the facility fully built out and furnished prior to QurAlis’ move-in. Scott Bohn, Healthpeak’s chief development officer, welcomed the company, highlighting the synergy between QurAlis’ mission and the lab’s cutting-edge infrastructure. “35 CPD offers a premier environment for life science innovation with LEED Gold certification, premium amenities, and direct access to Alewife Station,” Bohn said.
The building is part of a larger three-building, 450,000-square-foot life sciences campus in West Cambridge. In addition to high-performance lab and office space, 35 CPD includes tenant-focused amenities such as a craft food hall, exclusive fitness center, secure bike room, locker facilities, and outdoor common areas.
Real estate services firm JLL, represented by Carolyn Wheatley and Marc Consalvi, advised QurAlis on the search and lease negotiations.
