COLUMBIA, S.C.– Ritedose Corporation, the nation’s largest sterile Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) pharmaceutical manufacturer, has officially opened its new 225,000-square-foot distribution and logistics center at the company’s Performance Park campus. The unveiling marks a major expansion in the company’s capacity, enabling it to manage well over 2 billion doses annually.

Company leaders, state and local officials, and life sciences stakeholders gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site, highlighting Ritedose’s ongoing investment in both infrastructure and community impact. The new facility is part of a multiphase $81 million development initiative that is expected to create more than 100 new jobs in the region.

“This facility isn’t just about square footage or expanding our logistics footprint—it’s about building a better future for our workforce and our community,” said Ritedose CEO Jody Chastain. “We’re committed to making a difference, not only in the lives of patients who rely on our therapies, but also in the lives of the people who make those therapies possible.”

In addition to increasing production capacity, the new facility at 1150 Performance Parkway includes several standout features. It is Ritedose’s first LEED-certified building, signaling a commitment to sustainable construction and environmental responsibility. The site also incorporates nine acres of preserved wetlands and a half-mile walking trail, designed to support employee wellness.

Looking ahead, construction will begin this fall on an $11 million laboratory within the facility, aimed at supporting early-stage biotech firms in accelerating therapeutic development. The company is also launching the “Ritedose Center of Excellence,” a 150-seat training center offering workforce development programs that include classes on financial literacy and health education.

Ritedose’s investment comes as South Carolina’s life sciences industry continues to grow, contributing $25.7 billion annually to the state’s economy. Company executives view the Performance Park expansion as a long-term commitment to fueling innovation and enhancing pharmaceutical accessibility nationwide.

Two large-scale murals created by Columbia artist Ija Charles adorn the facility, capturing Ritedose’s core values: “Work for the Greater Good” and “See Beyond Ourselves”—a visual reminder of the company’s guiding principles as it enters its next phase of growth.
