MINNEAPOLIS — UCP Merchant Medicine, a prominent provider of consulting services and AI technology for the urgent care sector, has named Chris Lukasiak as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment marks a strategic move as the company prepares to expand its role in transforming healthcare delivery through technology-driven innovation.
Lukasiak, a healthcare industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, will lead the company’s strategic direction and spearhead the growth of its AI-powered platform, Intellivisit. The clinical decision support tool is designed to improve efficiency and quality of care in urgent care settings.
“Chris is the right leader for this pivotal moment in our journey,” said Jay Mason, Chairman of UCP Merchant Medicine’s Board of Directors. “His deep industry knowledge, vision, and collaborative leadership style make him uniquely qualified to scale our business and strengthen our market position.”
Prior to joining UCP Merchant Medicine, Lukasiak held leadership roles across several major sectors of healthcare including telehealth, population health, and electronic medical records. Most recently, he served at Access TeleCare, a national leader in inpatient telehealth services.
In a statement, Lukasiak expressed enthusiasm for joining UCP during a period of strong growth and innovation. “With over 3 million patient visits annually, an average Net Promoter Score of 94, and a door-to-door time of just 34 minutes, UCP Merchant Medicine has already set a high bar in urgent care,” he said. “Our goal is to further enhance access, equity, and affordability in healthcare through technology and a patient-first approach.”
Founded in 2014, UCP Merchant Medicine currently works with 71 health systems nationwide. Its AI tools are designed to dramatically improve operational efficiency—allowing centers to break even financially with just 16 patients per day, well below the industry average of 43.
Brandon Robertson, Founder and President of UCP Merchant Medicine and Intellivisit Solutions, called Lukasiak’s arrival a turning point. “Our first decade was about building a foundation and proving the model. With Chris on board, we’re now positioned to scale Modern Urgent Care nationwide and integrate AI into every frontline clinical workflow. This is about reshaping ambulatory care for the future.”
The leadership transition signals UCP’s broader ambitions to serve as a catalyst for healthcare transformation, combining operational expertise with advanced AI to drive scalable, patient-focused innovation.
