SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Boston IVF has expanded its advanced fertility services in upstate New York with the addition of Dr. Wendy Vitek, a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist, to its Syracuse fertility center. The move is part of the organization’s ongoing effort to increase access to high-quality reproductive care across Syracuse, Rochester, the Finger Lakes, and surrounding areas.
Dr. Vitek brings more than a decade of clinical experience and is triple board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Obesity Medicine. Her expertise adds to Boston IVF’s legacy as one of the nation’s top providers of fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg freezing, and fertility preservation.
“Dr. Vitek has extraordinary clinical skill, a deep sense of compassion, and more than a decade of experience,” said Dr. Alan S. Penzias, Northeast Region Medical Director at Boston IVF. “She is a standout in the field of reproductive medicine and her presence in Syracuse allows us to serve more individuals and couples with high-quality, patient-centered care.”
In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Vitek holds faculty appointments at both Upstate Medical Center and the University of Rochester Medical Center. From 2021 to 2025, she served as Program Director of a nationally accredited fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, where she mentored upcoming specialists in the field. She also serves on several national advisory boards focused on reproductive health and medical education.
Her research contributions include leadership in clinical trials such as the NatPro study, participation in FDA device research, and publications on topics including frozen embryo transfer protocols, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), obesity, and infertility.

Dr. Vitek is now accepting new patients at Boston IVF’s Syracuse location. She received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, completed her OB/GYN residency at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Women & Infants Hospital.
