BOSTON– Etiometry has introduced a major update to its clinical decision support platform, allowing its technology to be used beyond intensive care units by integrating high-fidelity waveform data from patient monitors and devices.

The enhancement enables clinicians in lower-acuity hospital settings to gain detailed physiological insights using the same FDA-cleared algorithms that power Etiometry’s platform in critical care environments. Traditionally used in ICUs, the software now extends its utility across more hospital departments where waveform data is often the primary source of patient information.

“This upgrade allows our platform to support continuous clinical surveillance as patients move across different levels of care,” said Shane Cooke, President and CEO of Etiometry. “It’s a key step in delivering real-time, data-driven insights throughout the entire hospital journey.”

The integration of waveform data expands the company’s quality improvement (QI) capabilities as well, with the platform now storing these signals for use in hospital analytics and research. According to Etiometry, the system has already supported over 150 QI initiatives and research projects, helping clinicians track patient trends and outcomes more effectively.

By pulling in data from monitors, lab systems, and medication records, the updated platform offers a more complete view of a patient’s condition, even outside the ICU. The aim is to support clinical decision-making, improve care transitions, and enhance patient outcomes throughout the hospital.
