LEXINGTON, Mass. — Fujifilm Healthcare Americas has introduced a series of automated features to its FDR Visionary Suite digital radiography system, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce retakes in busy radiology departments and imaging centers.
The updated system now includes enhancements designed to streamline setup and patient positioning. One feature, Intelligent Camera Assist, allows technologists to view and guide patient positioning from the control room, using a live camera feed and motion detection tools. Another, called SpeedLink, automatically adjusts imaging settings and collimation based on the selected exam type, aiming to reduce radiation dose and standardize procedures.
Fujifilm has also added motion detection and overlay guidance systems to further support technologists in minimizing errors and improving consistency.
The equipment has been designed to accommodate a wide range of patients, including those with limited mobility. The table can support up to 649 pounds and offers motorized height adjustment. The system can also capture long-length imaging up to 63 inches upright and 47 inches supine, with built-in software to correct for motion artifacts.
Imaging can be completed in as little as 20 seconds, according to the company, which says the goal is to reduce patient discomfort and improve throughput.
The FDR Visionary Suite uses Fujifilm’s proprietary digital radiography detectors, combining cesium iodide and Irradiation Side Sampling (ISS) technology for low-dose imaging. It also features the company’s FDX Console with Dynamic Visualization software, which adjusts image processing in real time to highlight key diagnostic details.
Fujifilm says the automation and image quality improvements are intended to help radiology teams handle high exam volumes while maintaining diagnostic accuracy.
