PALO ALTO, Calif.– Countable Labs, the developer of Countable PCR technology that redefines sensitivity and precision in genomics, has launched Countable 10, the first polymerase chain reaction (PCR) platform capable of analyzing 10 distinct fluorophores in a single reaction. The breakthrough platform bridges the performance gap between PCR and next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, offering researchers unprecedented multiplexing capabilities within a standard PCR workflow.
Alongside the product launch, Countable Labs announced the appointment of genomics industry veteran Giovanna Prout as Chief Executive Officer to lead the company’s commercialization efforts. Countable Labs will showcase new Countable 10 data at the upcoming American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) Annual Meeting, October 14–18, 2025, and the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) Annual Meeting, November 11–15, 2025, both in Boston, Massachusetts.
Countable PCR leverages single-molecule isolation across 30 million compartments per experiment, enabling true single-molecule quantitation with a simple PCR workflow. The platform delivers at least 10 times greater sensitivity and precision than conventional PCR methods, detecting rare events as low as 0.004% variant allele frequency (VAF) even from limited sample inputs. The system’s Universal Multiplexing Kit allows rapid, out-of-the-box assay design, significantly reducing development time for research, biopharma, and clinical testing applications.
Countable 10 extends this technology by distinguishing 10 unique fluorophores in a single run without the spectral overlap that limits other multiplex PCR systems. Automated data readout provides NGS-level insights without requiring specialized bioinformatics, offering major advantages in cost, speed, and accessibility. The company’s four-color Countable PCR system is already shipping, while the ten-color Countable 10 platform will be available in the first half of 2026. Customers can now access the platform through Countable Labs’ assay services program.
“The genomics community needs tools that make analyzing multiple biomarkers both affordable and practical for everyday molecular applications,” said Eleen Shum, Vice President of Product and founding scientist at Countable Labs. “Countable 10 delivers high sensitivity, speed, and scalability—allowing labs to study more markers per reaction and extract deeper biological insights with ease.”
