BOSTON — VideaHealth, the leading dental AI platform, has announced the launch of Voice Notes, the first ambient AI-powered scribe created specifically for dentistry. The new solution eliminates one of the field’s most persistent challenges—manual charting and documentation—by transforming chairside conversations into chart-ready clinical notes within seconds, without disrupting the dentist’s workflow.

Built on VideaAI, a platform trained on more than one billion dental images, Voice Notes extends clinical intelligence beyond visual diagnosis to conversational documentation, setting a new benchmark for intelligent and connected dental workflows.

“Every hour spent writing clinical notes, whether during appointments or late at night, is time pulled away from patient care and a leading cause of burnout,” said Florian Hillen, CEO and founder of VideaHealth. “That burden has been accepted as part of the job for too long, even as dentistry becomes more data-driven and demanding. Voice Notes pioneers a new level of intelligence in dentistry, automating documentation through ambient AI, ultimately strengthening clinical records and restoring the patient connection at the heart of dentistry.”

Voice Notes is designed specifically for dental operatories and captures clinically relevant details through ambient listening. It filters out irrelevant information and organizes the results by complaint, findings, assessment, and treatment plan. The platform offers Smart Ambient Mode to capture dialogue between the provider and patient, Quick Dictation Mode for free-flowing speech, and customizable templates that adapt to each provider’s preferred note style and specialty. With direct practice management system integration, dentists can review notes immediately after an appointment or upload them in batches at the end of the day.

The technology delivers measurable results for clinicians and dental service organizations, saving more than ten hours per provider each week by removing manual note entry, increasing annual revenue by up to $117,000 per dentist through greater efficiency, and achieving 95 percent complete clinical notes on the first pass. Patients also benefit from more face-to-face interaction and less screen time.

Voice Notes is fully HIPAA-compliant, featuring click-to-activate consent, secure recording, and encryption of protected health information. Providers maintain complete control over when the system listens, ensuring privacy and defensible documentation.

The launch marks VideaHealth’s first step into ambient AI, paving the way for future innovations to automate other time-consuming and error-prone tasks across the dental workflow.

“This launch is the first step in building an intelligent dental ecosystem that links diagnosis, documentation, and delivery in one continuous workflow,” Hillen added. “There are clear synergies between our FDA-cleared Clinical Assist and Voice Notes, which together lay the groundwork for more comprehensive, connected documentation. It’s another way we’re helping clinicians create stronger, evidence-based records for insurance and audits without adding extra steps to their day.”
