MANILA, Philippines — Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), a global medical device company known for the Invisalign System of clear aligners, iTero intraoral scanners and exocad CAD/CAM software, announced commercial availability in the Philippines of the Invisalign System with mandibular advancement featuring occlusal blocks. The new solution is designed to address Class II skeletal and dental correction by advancing the mandible while simultaneously aligning the teeth.

The Invisalign System with mandibular advancement featuring occlusal blocks represents the company’s latest clinical innovation for Class II treatment, expanding options for growing patients with malocclusions caused by mandibular retrusion. This is Align’s first clear aligner product with integrated solid occlusal blocks designed to support predictable mandibular advancement. The blocks aim to enhance durability, improve mandibular engagement, and enable vertical opening, which may allow earlier advancement in cases such as Class II with deep bite.

Class II malocclusion is among the most common orthodontic challenges worldwide and affects an estimated 30 to 45 percent of patients. The condition involves misalignment in which the lower jaw is positioned too far behind the upper jaw. If left untreated, it can result in functional limitations, aesthetic concerns, and other complications.

The system is primarily intended for patients aged 10 to 16 who are still in active growth phases. By using the natural developmental window during adolescence, the technology aims to help improve occlusal relationships, enhance long-term function, and support facial balance. Key potential benefits include efficient and simultaneous correction, improved comfort and compliance, and more predictable tooth movement through the combination of SmartTrack material, SmartForce features and SmartStage technology.

“The Invisalign System with mandibular advancement featuring occlusal blocks reflects Align’s continued commitment to expanding the capabilities of the Invisalign System, enabling doctors to treat a wider range of malocclusions with precision and efficiency, and helps to continue to advance clear aligners as the standard of care in digital orthodontics,” said Sreelakshmi Kolli, EVP and chief product and digital officer at Align Technology.

“The integration of occlusal blocks enhances mandibular engagement as well as provides bite opening, making this a versatile solution for different Class II malocclusion including deep bite or div 2,” said Dr. Mitra Derakhshan, EVP and chief clinical officer at Align Technology.

Orthodontists who have worked with the system report comfort, durability and strong treatment adherence in young patients.

The Invisalign System with mandibular advancement featuring occlusal blocks is now commercially available to Invisalign-trained doctors in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Korea, China, Thailand and Vietnam.
