MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., and KORTRIJK, Belgium — Avatar Medical and Barco have unveiled Eonis Vision, a new 3D imaging solution designed to transform how medical imaging is shared and understood during patient consultations. The collaboration pairs Avatar Medical’s 3D visualization software with Barco’s new glasses-free autostereoscopic display, creating an immersive, real-time 3D experience directly in the exam room.

Using Barco’s glasses-free 3D display, Avatar Medical’s software converts CT and MRI scans into accurate, lifelike 3D anatomical representations without requiring headsets or goggles. The result is a clearer, more intuitive way for patients and physicians to view and discuss anatomy together, helping improve understanding and support informed clinical decision-making.

“Eonis Vision turns medical imaging into shared understanding and trust,” said Elodie Litzler, Ph.D., co-founder and Chief Operations Officer at Avatar Medical. “When physicians and patients can see together, they decide together — because in medicine, seeing is healing.”

Designed for seamless clinical integration, Eonis Vision launches directly from a patient’s medical record. The system retrieves imaging studies instantly and generates interactive 3D anatomy without disrupting established workflows. This streamlined process aims to enhance communication, reduce ambiguity in consultations and provide greater confidence to both clinicians and patients.

Dr. Myriam Delomenie, an oncologic surgeon at the American Hospital of Paris, noted the value of Avatar Medical’s technology in her breast cancer practice. “Patients have loved it. It has truly helped them better understand their diagnosis and feel more engaged in their care,” she said. “I am eager to evaluate Eonis Vision, especially its ability to bring depth and clarity into the consultation room, which could help patients feel more supported and more confident as they move forward with treatment.”

Barco’s Eonis 3D display, built on Leia’s Immersity platform, serves as the foundation of the experience. “Barco has always believed that clarity drives confidence,” said Dirk Feyants, Executive Vice President for Diagnostics at Barco. “By bringing Eonis Vision to life on our Eonis 3D display, we’re creating shared visualization experiences that connect doctors and patients in more meaningful ways, right where care decisions are made.”

Fabio Esposito, CEO of Leia, added, “By integrating Leia’s Immersity Platform, Barco is the first to bring true immersive experiences into clinical settings. This technology makes physicians and patients feel they are in touch with the scene — enhancing understanding, improving communication and defining what’s next in healthcare.”
