RALEIGH, North Carolina — Veranex, which describes itself as the industry’s first Innovation CRO focused on end-to-end medical technology development, has appointed Jose Pablo Morales, M.D., as Chief Medical Officer. The addition of Dr. Morales to the executive team supports the company’s efforts to help MedTech innovators advance products efficiently amid evolving clinical and regulatory requirements.
Dr. Morales joins Veranex after a distinguished career at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where he provided clinical and regulatory oversight for more than 1,000 medical device submissions, including premarket approval applications (PMAs), investigational device exemptions (IDEs), and breakthrough device designations. He played a key role in establishing and implementing the FDA’s Early Feasibility Studies pathway and most recently served as Senior Medical Advisor in the Office of Clinical Policy, advising on complex clinical trials and ethical considerations.
His background includes extensive experience in cardiovascular and implantable medical devices, shaped by both clinical practice and regulatory leadership. This perspective supports his work in guiding new technologies from concept through clinical evaluation and into patient care.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Morales will lead Veranex’s medical and clinical strategy across its integrated services platform. His leadership is expected to support areas including clinical trial design, real-world evidence development, and digital health innovation, further strengthening the company’s position in helping clients advance novel devices from development through commercialization.
