BOSTON — eClinical Solutions LLC announced the launch of elluminate AI agents, a new suite of intelligent tools embedded across its elluminate Clinical Data Cloud. First previewed at the company’s ENGAGE conference in October, the agents integrate governed data, explainable intelligence and human oversight to streamline key functions in clinical data management and accelerate decision-making.
The agents are built into four core areas of the elluminate ecosystem: Data Mapping, Data Review, RBQM and Study Operations. The company said the rollout marks a significant shift in how clinical data will be handled over the next decade as trial sponsors contend with rapidly expanding data volumes and increasing operational complexity.
According to eClinical Solutions, the average Phase III trial now generates more than 5.9 million data points, a sixfold increase over the past ten years. Against this backdrop, the company said its platform has become a standard for data infrastructure and analytics, enabling it to take advantage of breakthroughs in AI to deliver agent-driven automation at scale. The emerging model of discovery pairs AI-generated hypotheses with human validation to shorten development cycles.
The new agents rely on shared data products, workflows and policies designed to ensure contextual accuracy and guard against misuse. Because domain knowledge is embedded across the elluminate platform, the agents are context-aware and capable of interpreting trial data to produce insights, guide exploration and supply decision-ready information within seconds.
Within the platform, the agents will support data mapping by assisting with specification generation, transformation, validation and code checks. They will enhance data review through visualization explanation, anomaly detection and semi-automated issue creation. In RBQM, the agents will help draft risk statements, monitor KRIs, identify meaningful signals and recommend mitigations. For study operations, they will assist with protocol interpretation, study configuration and analysis of operational bottlenecks.
“Over the last decade, eClinical Solutions has worked to address the historical challenge of data chaos with harmonized, governed data and intelligent data products, offering the industry a solution with our elluminate platform,” said Raj Indupuri, CEO and co-founder of eClinical Solutions. “The last 10+ years of innovation uniquely set us up to power the future. Today, we see an opportunity to evolve our data cloud into a data intelligence platform with our elluminate agents acting as partners across the clinical development value chain to learn fast and act with humans in the loop. As cycle times remain the currency of drug development, we are proud to be leaders bending the clinical development curve with data and AI.”
