GENEVA, Switzerland — Medimaps Group S.A. will unveil live demonstrations of TBS Reveal*, a new AI-driven opportunistic screening software that assesses bone fragility using standard X-ray scans, at the Radiological Society of North America’s 2025 Annual Meeting in Chicago. The company will showcase the technology from November 30 through December 4.

TBS Reveal* applies Medimaps Group’s Trabecular Bone Score technology to conventional X-ray images, allowing radiologists to evaluate bone microarchitecture and bone mass simultaneously within existing PACS workflows. Designed for use with routine imaging, the software aims to help clinicians identify patients at elevated risk of fracture earlier and direct them toward further diagnostic assessment.

The company said the software has been validated through external studies using paired DXA and X-ray data from adults 20 and older. According to Medimaps Group, TBS Reveal* demonstrated 90 percent accuracy, 95 percent specificity and an 85 percent AUC. The product has been submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under the 510(k) pathway.

Medimaps Group will also present its recently launched TBS Osteo Advanced software at RSNA, positioning both tools as complementary solutions for detecting bone fragility through X-ray and DXA modalities. The company has long specialized in AI-enhanced analysis of bone microarchitecture and is expanding these capabilities to support broader musculoskeletal assessment.

“Conventional X-rays are among the most common imaging modalities in clinical practice, yet they are rarely used to assess bone fragility, a missed opportunity given the vast number of images processed and already stored in PACS systems,” said Univ-Prof. Dr. Didier Hans, CEO and co-founder of Medimaps Group. “By applying AI to analyze these X-ray images with our TBS technology, TBS Reveal* can help flag patients at elevated risk of bone fracture and guide them toward early diagnostic assessment. Because it captures bone quality, not just density, it provides a far more powerful view of bone fragility from a routine X-ray.”

Medimaps Group said the new software is designed to integrate smoothly into radiology workflows, supporting real-time or retrospective screening opportunities as healthcare systems look to expand early detection of osteoporosis and related conditions.
