BOSTON, Mass. — Lutanen Health will open its flagship Boston location on Feb. 1 at 607 Boylston Street, offering a membership-based primary care practice that limits patient volume and emphasizes longer visits and preventive care.

The practice was founded in 2024 by Dr. Jay Luthar, a Harvard-trained internist, and is structured around a significantly smaller patient panel than most traditional primary care offices. Each physician at Lutanen Health will care for fewer than 150 patients, compared with the thousands often assigned to primary care doctors in conventional practices.

Annual memberships start at $15,000, with discounted rates available for families, students, healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, veterans, and nonprofit employees. Membership covers extended appointments, same-day visits, and direct physician access.

“Our care evolves with each patient—layer by layer, year by year—reflecting their changing needs, goals, and health,” said Dr. Luthar. “With longer visits, advanced diagnostics, and mind-body support, we help patients feel better, live longer, and age with intention.”

Lutanen Health combines internal medicine with what it describes as a longevity-focused and whole-person approach to care. Services include advanced laboratory testing, cardiovascular and metabolic risk assessments, fitness and mobility evaluations such as VO₂ max testing, and tracking of biological age. The practice also incorporates sleep monitoring, stress management tools, and personalized nutrition counseling.

The leadership team includes Dr. Luthar, an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School who is triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Integrative Medicine, and Dr. Julia Loewenthal, a Harvard-trained internist and geriatrician who serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Together, they oversee care for adult patients across different stages of aging.

The Back Bay office was designed as a biophilic healing space, using natural materials and quiet, restorative areas intended to support patient comfort and longer in-person visits. The practice is physician-owned and operated, with no outside investors.

Lutanen Health’s model reflects a broader shift toward concierge-style and direct primary care practices in urban markets, as patients seek more time with physicians and greater focus on prevention, longevity, and quality of life.
