ANN ARBOR, Mich. — NSF, a global organization focused on protecting human health, said it has expanded its global leadership team with several key appointments aimed at strengthening its capabilities and accelerating delivery of its Blueprint 2030 strategy.

Effective January 1, NSF appointed Steve Haan to an officer role as Senior Vice President, Global Divisions; Vincent Boks as Vice President, Water; and Hampton Shiver as Vice President, Corporate Development. The organization said the leadership changes are intended to support faster execution, deeper scientific leadership, and more agile delivery of integrated, science-based programs worldwide.

NSF said the food, water, and wellness sectors are facing increasing complexity, driven by emerging contaminants, evolving supply chains, and rising expectations for safety, transparency, and trust. The updated leadership structure is designed to help the organization respond more quickly while scaling its impact across more than 110 countries.

Haan, who joined NSF in 2024 as Vice President of Water, brings more than 25 years of technical, operational, and commercial experience from roles at GE, Ecolab, and Nalco. In his expanded role, he will oversee NSF’s global divisions and lead international teams delivering science-based programs to safeguard human health in diverse markets.

“We continue to evolve our organization to deliver even more value to our clients—bringing integrated solutions that protect their brands, open new markets, and build consumer trust,” said Pedro Sancha, President and CEO of NSF. “Our people are our greatest asset, and we are committed to building world-class teams that will accelerate growth and scale our operations globally.”

Boks will lead NSF’s global Water division, which supports safe drinking water systems, wastewater treatment, plumbing products, and solutions addressing emerging contaminants such as PFAS and microplastics. He joined NSF in 2014 and has held leadership roles across sales, operations, and global program management, most recently serving as Senior Director of Global Water Programs.

Shiver will oversee corporate development, mergers and acquisitions strategy, and business intelligence initiatives. He brings more than two decades of corporate development experience across the aerospace, industrial, and energy sectors, including senior roles at GE Aerospace and Credit Suisse.

“We are focused on shaping the next chapter of NSF’s global impact,” Sancha said. “These appointments come at an exciting time as we launch Blueprint 2030, which sets a bold course to double NSF’s scale and position the organization as a global leader in human health across food, water, and wellness.”
