CANTON, Mass. — MEDITECH will highlight its latest interoperability innovations at HIMSS26, positioning seamless data exchange as a strategic priority during the healthcare industry’s largest health IT conference, scheduled for March 9–12 in Las Vegas.
The company said it will feature live demonstrations, expert panels and discussions focused on national data exchange advancements, including its Traverse Exchange network, which is designed to enable secure data sharing across connected health systems and electronic health record platforms.
MEDITECH plans to showcase its interoperability strategies at its main conference booth and within the Interop+ Smart Experience Pavilion, where attendees can participate in live demos, Lunch & Learn sessions and partner scenarios throughout the event. The company said its goal is to reframe interoperability as more than a regulatory requirement, positioning it instead as a competitive and clinical advantage.
Central to MEDITECH’s Expanse platform strategy is expanding access to health data for both patients and care teams. The company said barriers to interoperability can delay care, create safety risks and undermine patient trust by limiting individuals’ ability to manage their own health information.
MEDITECH is working to reduce those barriers by connecting with Qualified Health Information Networks under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement and with CMS-aligned networks, aiming to provide more complete access to patient data across care settings.
“When patients can truly direct their own data, the entire healthcare dynamic begins to shift. We’re already seeing the early signs — people expect their health information to move as seamlessly as every other part of their digital lives, and our industry must rise to meet that expectation,” said MEDITECH Senior Director of Interoperability Mike Cordeiro.
“True interoperability isn’t just about systems connecting; it’s about empowering patients to become the conductor of their own data. Frameworks and policies provide the structure, but meaningful transformation happens when individuals have real control over how their information is shared, accessed, and used to support their care.”
The company will also demonstrate how its Traverse Exchange national data exchange network provides clinicians with a searchable, de-duplicated and longitudinal view of a patient’s health record within existing workflows, regardless of where care was delivered. In addition to clinical integration, MEDITECH said it is prioritizing services that allow patients to aggregate their health data through consumer applications, supporting more active engagement in long-term care management.
