South San Francisco, Calif. — Twist Bioscience Corporation (NASDAQ: TWST) announced the launch of its new High Throughput (HT) Unique Dual Index (UDI) Adapter System, expanding its portfolio of next-generation sequencing (NGS) tools designed to enhance large-scale genomic studies. The new system doubles the company’s current high throughput offering, introducing 3,072 unique adapter indexes that enable researchers to multiplex thousands of samples in a single sequencing run.

The expanded adapter system is designed to streamline sequencing workflows by allowing sample batching at scale, significantly improving efficiency and reducing sequencing costs for high-volume projects. Indexing, a key step in library preparation, enables researchers to track and multiplex samples across various sequencing platforms, a process that is critical for applications such as exome sequencing, whole genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, liquid biopsy research, minimal residual disease (MRD) detection, and methylation analysis.

“With this expansion, we continue to grow our NGS portfolio that supports the entire workflow from sample to sequencer,” said Emily M. Leproust, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of Twist Bioscience. “More core labs, biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and medical centers are choosing Twist products to enable multiple steps in their sequencing workflows. For customers conducting large-scale population studies, validating genetic biomarkers, or screening targeted therapeutics, our industry-leading set of 3,072 high throughput UDI adapters allows them to process samples at scale.”

The Twist HT UDI Adapter System adds to the company’s existing lineup of universal adapter products, including the Twist Universal Adapter System and Twist Full Length UDIs. The new HT UDIs are designed with 12 base pairs, at a 10 micromolar concentration, and are available in automation-friendly configurations of 96- or 384-well plates. These adapters are optimized for two-color or four-color chemistries, incorporating balanced base and color channel designs to ensure compatibility with widely used sequencing platforms.

The launch underscores Twist Bioscience’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative solutions for genomic research, supporting a wide array of applications from population genomics to clinical diagnostics.
