NEW YORK — Ezra Mehlman, Managing Partner at Health Enterprise Partners (HEP), has been recognized as one of GrowthCap’s Top Healthcare Investors of 2025, a distinction that highlights his strategic leadership, deep industry expertise, and commitment to long-term value creation in the healthcare sector.
Mehlman was selected from a competitive pool of nominees evaluated on investment performance, sector knowledge, and impact on portfolio companies. GrowthCap’s annual list honors investors who not only deliver strong financial results but also contribute operational insight and strategic support that help healthcare companies grow and thrive in a complex and rapidly evolving environment.
“Ezra is an exceptionally disciplined and transparent investor who understands that strong relationships and long-term value creation go hand in hand,” said Kulmeet Singh, CEO of Twistle, a former HEP portfolio company acquired by Health Catalyst. “Ezra and his team delivered more than capital—they helped us build key connections with health systems and enhanced our syndicate with highly engaged co-investors.”
Mehlman currently serves on the boards of Aware Recovery Care, BrentCare Behavioral Health, The Intermed Group, Kno2, and Proven Behavioral Health, and is a board observer at Wildflower Health. His past board roles include leadership positions at companies that were later acquired by major healthcare and investment firms, including AxiaMed (Bank of America), Applied Pathways (Anthem/AIM Specialty Health), Centerpointe Behavioral Health (Acadia Healthcare), and Twistle (Health Catalyst).
Beyond his investment activities, Mehlman is an active contributor to the academic and policy landscape. He serves on the Executive Council of the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and teaches a healthcare venture capital and private equity course at Columbia Business School, where he has been on faculty for over a decade.
Before joining HEP in 2010, Mehlman worked at the Advisory Board Company and later as a senior consultant in Booz Allen Hamilton’s healthcare practice, advising provider organizations on operational and strategic challenges.
He earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
