Boston– The Vascular Care Group (TVCG), the nation’s largest independent network of board-certified vascular specialists, has partnered with Lemuel Shattuck Hospital to provide advanced vascular services to some of Massachusetts’ most underserved patients.
The collaboration, announced Wednesday, aims to close critical gaps in specialty care at the state-run hospital, which serves economically and socially vulnerable populations in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Shattuck Hospital offers acute, subacute, and ambulatory care for patients referred by public agencies and private providers.
“Our mission has always been to deliver exceptional vascular care that’s affordable, accessible, and rooted in compassion,” said Dr. Daniel Gorin of The Vascular Care Group. “We are honored to work alongside Shattuck Hospital’s staff to serve this community.”
The partnership will bring TVCG’s vascular expertise to the hospital, improving the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases and helping prevent serious complications, including limb loss. Shattuck clinicians say the move is a major step forward in expanding specialized care for patients who often face multiple health and social challenges.
“Our patients often struggle with chronic illness, housing instability, and other barriers,” said Dr. William Rockett, Chief of Surgery at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital. “Access to expert vascular care has been limited in settings like ours. This partnership is a game changer.”
With more than a dozen locations across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine, The Vascular Care Group has emphasized community-based care and clinical excellence. The Shattuck collaboration reflects its growing role in public health initiatives focused on equitable access to care.
“Access to vascular treatment shouldn’t depend on where you live or what insurance you have,” Dr. Gorin said. “We’re committed to making high-quality care available to those who need it most—close to home, with dignity and respect.”
