Cambridge, MA — Elemental Machines, a leader in lab and manufacturing operations intelligence, has appointed Rob Estrella as its new Chief Executive Officer. Estrella succeeds outgoing CEO Ed Seguine, who is stepping down after steering the company through a phase of sustained growth and product expansion.

Previously serving as Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial, Estrella brings more than 20 years of experience in the life sciences and enterprise technology sectors. During his tenure at Elemental Machines, he played a key role in driving commercial strategy, enhancing customer engagement, and expanding the company’s footprint across the biopharma, biotech, and lab innovation markets.

“I’m honored to take on this role and continue building on the incredible foundation Ed and the team have created,” Estrella said in a statement. “This isn’t a shift in strategy, but a continuation of our mission to transform lab operations through data-driven insights and trusted partnerships.”

Under Seguine’s leadership—and with Estrella’s commercial guidance—Elemental Machines has recorded several consecutive quarters of record-setting growth while enhancing its platform capabilities. The company’s solutions help laboratories move from reactive troubleshooting to proactive, intelligent decision-making by improving compliance, reducing operational costs, and increasing visibility.

“It’s been a privilege to guide Elemental Machines during this exciting period,” said Seguine. “Rob has been instrumental in our success, and I have every confidence in his leadership as the company continues to scale.”

Company founder and Chief Strategy & Technology Officer Sridhar Iyengar praised both leaders, noting that Seguine helped shape the company’s current position while Estrella’s customer-focused approach makes him ideally suited for the next phase of growth.

The leadership transition is expected to reinforce Elemental Machines’ focus on expanding its intelligent operations platform, which serves a growing client base in the life sciences and advanced manufacturing sectors.
