San Francisco– Wearable tech company ŌURA is making a major move into the metabolic health space with the launch of two new features—Meals and Glucose—designed to give users real-time, AI-driven insights into how their nutrition and glucose levels interact with daily habits like sleep, stress, and activity.

Announced Tuesday, the new features represent a strategic expansion of ŌURA’s capabilities beyond sleep and recovery tracking, positioning the company as a more comprehensive health platform. The tools integrate dietary data and continuous glucose monitoring directly into the Oura App, supported by real-time guidance from Oura Advisor, the brand’s AI-powered health assistant.

“Our bodies all process food differently, which is why we’re combining biometric data, generative AI, and glucose insights from Stelo to create a more personalized and accessible approach to metabolic health,” said Holly Shelton, Chief Product Officer at ŌURA.

Meals allows users to log food simply by taking a photo, which is then analyzed through AI to provide an overview of macronutrients, fiber, sugars, and other key components. Rather than focusing on calorie counting, the feature aims to help users understand how their meals affect energy levels and metabolic function. Users receive non-judgmental feedback through Oura Advisor, encouraging more informed and sustainable nutrition decisions.

The Glucose feature stems from a new partnership with Dexcom, integrating data from Stelo—the first FDA-cleared over-the-counter glucose biosensor—into the Oura App. The small sensor, worn on the upper arm, tracks glucose levels 24/7, and now, for the first time, users can view that data alongside their sleep, stress, and activity metrics in a single dashboard.

“Through this partnership, we’re redefining what wearable health tech can deliver,” said Jake Leach, Executive VP and COO at Dexcom. “We’re providing the first integrated glucose and smart ring solution to help people understand how their bodies respond to daily choices.”

Within the app, users can view contextual graphs, receive AI-generated insights, and monitor a new metric called Time Above Range, which tracks how long glucose levels exceed the target threshold. The goal is not to fixate on individual spikes but to recognize patterns and build healthier long-term habits.

ŌURA’s scientific lead, Shyamal Patel, emphasized that the holistic nature of metabolic health means it must be addressed through multiple lenses: “Sleep, stress, meal timing, and movement all influence glucose response. Our goal is to empower users to experiment, observe, and learn what works best for their own bodies.”

The launch of Meals and Glucose further deepens ŌURA’s AI integration through Oura Advisor, which can now synthesize data from multiple sources to provide tailored health recommendations. The company sees this development as a pivotal step toward becoming a full-spectrum digital health companion.

“With these features, we’re not just adding tools—we’re connecting the dots between lifestyle and physiology,” said Shelton. “This is a milestone in our mission to give people more agency over their health through science and smart technology.”
