BOSTON– Ingenium and Veolia North America have entered into a strategic partnership that will provide guaranteed access to hazardous waste treatment capacity at Veolia’s forthcoming high-temperature thermal treatment facility in Gum Springs, Arkansas. Scheduled to open in 2025, the facility is designed to meet increasing demand for safe and sustainable industrial waste management.

Under the agreement, Ingenium will also gain access to capacity at Veolia’s existing waste treatment network, including its thermal treatment, landfill, and fuel blending facilities across the United States. The partnership takes effect immediately.

The Gum Springs facility, which Veolia says will set a new standard for environmental performance, will feature advanced operational and power generation technologies. These include waste heat recovery systems and on-site solar energy to minimize environmental impact, aligning with both companies’ sustainability goals.

Heather Johnson, CEO of Ingenium, called the partnership a major step forward for the company’s commitment to sustainable waste solutions. “Securing guaranteed access to Veolia’s state-of-the-art facilities, particularly the new Gum Springs location, ensures we can meet the growing demand for hazardous waste treatment while upholding our dedication to innovation and integrity,” she said.

Bob Cappadona, CEO of Veolia North America’s Environmental Solutions and Services division, emphasized the importance of the agreement in supporting domestic industrial growth. “This partnership is a strong example of environmental leaders working together to maximize the limited thermal treatment capacity in the U.S.,” he said. “It aligns closely with our GreenUp strategy, which views hazardous waste management as critical to enabling sustainable reindustrialization.”

With industrial activity on the rise and environmental regulations becoming more stringent, the agreement is expected to strengthen both companies’ ability to provide reliable, long-term waste management infrastructure to clients nationwide.
