SANTA MONICA, Calif. — GoodRx has announced the launch of Community Link, a new initiative designed to support independent pharmacies through simplified, transparent pricing and more control over participation in the company’s programs. The platform introduces a cost-plus pricing model anchored on the National Average Drug Acquisition Cost (NADAC), allowing pharmacies to negotiate directly with GoodRx while sidestepping traditional pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) involvement.

Set to take effect July 1, the launch of Community Link comes as GoodRx shifts the structure of its Integrated Savings Program (ISP). Starting that date, all independent pharmacies will be opted out of ISP by default, although those that sign a direct contract with GoodRx will have the option to opt in. The changes are aimed at offering pharmacies more predictable economics and greater flexibility in managing their participation in medication savings programs.

“We know independent pharmacies are critical pillars in our communities that help millions of Americans access their medications, and they need bespoke solutions to help address the industry problems they face,” said Aaron Crittenden, President of Rx Marketplace at GoodRx. “Community Link is the result of a multi-year journey to evolve the GoodRx business model and deliver solutions tailored to the specific needs of independent pharmacies.”

Through Community Link, pharmacies gain access to more than 90 brand-name medication partnerships, where drug manufacturers subsidize medication costs via GoodRx to make treatments more affordable for patients while improving pharmacy margins. Products covered in these offerings include widely used therapies and medical devices such as Lantus, Humira® biosimilars, and Dexcom glucose monitors.

The introduction of Community Link reflects GoodRx’s broader strategy to reform how retail pharmacy pricing works—particularly for smaller, community-based operations that often face unfavorable reimbursement structures and increasing competitive pressure. By allowing direct contracting and offering enhanced control over program participation, GoodRx aims to create a more sustainable and equitable model for independent pharmacies nationwide.
