PORTLAND, Ore. — Tend Health, a provider of telepsychology and telepsychiatry services tailored specifically to healthcare professionals, has appointed Dr. Namit Choksi as its new Chief Executive Officer. The leadership change follows a 2024 strategic investment from The Asclepian Group and marks a new phase in Tend’s mission to deliver accessible, stigma-free mental health care for clinicians.
Dr. Choksi, a practicing physician with a background in public health and business leadership, steps into the role with a focus on expanding Tend’s services while maintaining its patient-centered values. His appointment is expected to drive the company’s growth and reinforce its commitment to serving the mental health needs of medical professionals and trainees navigating high-pressure environments.
“Dr. Choksi’s leadership represents a pivotal moment for Tend Health,” said Arielle Lawrence, Chair of the Board at Tend. “He brings a profound empathy for the clinician experience, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of success. His vision aligns perfectly with Tend’s mission.”
Before joining Tend, Dr. Choksi led Asia-Pacific growth and strategy for bioengineering company Perfect Day and worked with Northern Light Venture Capital to support early-stage healthcare startups. Earlier in his career, he advised governments on expanding access to healthcare and social insurance during his time with consulting firm Kearney.
Crucially, Dr. Choksi’s perspective is shaped by his own experience on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. “My leadership begins and ends with the patient in mind—but in this case, the patient is often a doctor, nurse, or healthcare worker quietly carrying the emotional weight of the system,” he said. “That personal experience is what brings me to Tend.”
Dr. Choksi holds an M.D. from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and advanced training from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He also earned an MPH from Harvard University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. A Schwarzman Scholar, he previously served as a senior advisor at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he co-developed a World Bank-acclaimed medical device to combat postpartum hemorrhage.
Tend Health, which offers concierge-level mental health support to clinicians, is expected to scale its operations and deepen its systemic impact under Dr. Choksi’s leadership.
